March 1, 2018
On March 1, 2018, PAANEAH Foundationin collaboration with Society for Adolescent and Young People’s Health in Nigeria (SAYPHIN), in Ota, Nigeria, at AUD Jnr. And Iganmode Jnr., joined the International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS) and its campaign partners – including IAAH in marking the first ever International HPV Awareness Day. This followed the IPVS conference In South Africa last year, during which they declared March 4th as “International HPV Awareness Day” to promote awareness of and education around HPV infection, how it spreads, and how to prevent it.
This year, as March 4th was a Sunday, the press releases were out on March 1st. We chose the press releases date because it was a Thursday and a school day, we found it better to plan our activities for the day in order for the shool sudents to be reached in their school.
The message
The message to ‘give love’ is not just about sex – it reflects the love that everyone can share with friends and family to help them to protect themselves, prevent transmission, and get testing and treatment if needed.
